Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by!
“To find yourself, think for yourself.” – Socrates
There are some people who can think by quietly sitting in their heads and letting their thoughts come together in a coherent form. I’m not one of those fortunates. To think properly I must talk or write. There is only so much chatter I can direct towards my nearest and dearest, and so I have taken to writing down my ponderings. Readers at least have the ability to stop reading if they so choose!
Two circumstances are the main influences of my thinking. One is my diagnosis of Bipolar Affective Disorder and the effect of living with mental health problems. The other is my Catholic faith.
“The season of glad songs” is a quote from the biblical Song of Solomon in a passage describing the passing of this world into heaven as the coming of eternal spring.
One of my fundamental beliefs is that earth is the journey towards our real homeland of Heaven and that all that happens on earth is within this hope-filled context.
My stormy mental health gives impetus to my wonderings, and my faith is the land within which they wander.
